This is a tricky problem to fix, and you have to diss- assemble the unit to get at the tiny switches - usually two strips of copper/ brass with plastic ends I cant open my DVD rom .. The buttons on that door have to have the CD-ROM set back in the bay just far enough so that the button works. Typically, a malfunctioning drive tray means 1 of 2 things. (1) A loose cable, or (2), the drive is failing.
