I try to reinstall Version vpnclient-win-msi-4.8.01.0300-k9 and it seems to install with no problem. Mathematics is fact. If not, I would recommend getting a hardware firewall...if you want additional software protection you could use IPSec in combination with IP filters to block traffic.

After trying to install/uninstall both versions in different scenarios, I didn't ever have any issues getting it installed. Then I decided to install Server 2003 SP2. Same exact result. So now I'm thinking this won't install correctly on Server 2003. Run the setup program to get the client installed. After reboot, open the client and create a connection profile. But i cannot even get the install to work as you described - i even tried disabling the service you mentioned...

Fortunately, getting the Cisco VPN client up and running on Win2K3 requires only a small bit of tweaking.
